Jackson Pollock

Jackson Pollock, abstract expressionist painter 1912-1952

Aaron Siskind

Several artists have influenced my work but Aaron Siskind is one in particular that has strongly influenced me. Especially his focus on textures and close-up cropped images. Again and again his work comes to mind...

Small Flower/Heart Cards

A range of handmade cards I created using brown card, old book pages, handmade papers... The size of these are 100mm x 100mm

Abstract Canvas Piece

This piece was created after several layers had been experimented with. Using matt paint and a glue gun to achieve the varying patterns. After painting the whole canvas turquoise, I used a mini-roller to achieve the textured paint effect.

Ideas for inspiration

Doing some quick sketches helped to lead on to a range of items.

Lamp light

Patterns created by lamp light on the ceiling.

Beautiful Butterflies

Butterflies from Symonds Yat Butterfly Farm. Such a variation of colours and size, also they tickle when they decided they're going to land on your hand.

Usual close up most people get of a butterfly, trapped by a window not able to get out.

Sunbathing butterflies. The random lumpy texture of the background is interesting against the definite  pattern of the peacock butterflies wings.

Winter Vistor

Our garden was thriving with birds of all kinds in the winter months. I was thrilled with the reception to the food we put out. Here's hoping this year will bring in much of the same.
Of all the birds we played host to my personal favourite, was the smallest of our visitors...the Goldcrest.
I was able to snatch these quick shots before it darted away.
